I remember my Gradfather telling my mother that Nothern people did not eat Grits.He said "only poor southern people eat grits,“we eat Pancakes with Bacon or Oatmeal”,he said.
When I went in service we had grits when I was in Boot Camp
they tasted like Elmers Glue.Maybe they would have been ok with Catsup.
