This year at Trail Daze the leash law will be enforced. Every year irresponsible, drunken owners let their mutts s**t and piss at will with no consequence.

I just gave a seminar on long distance hiking with your dog. Feel free to e-mail me outside of this forum. (it’s always the same old same old in here!)

Basically, people are going to do it. We might as well encourage them to do it responsibly (with LNT ethics), with CONTROL of the dog, and in a safe way for the animal and others.

How many posts…mmm. This one comes up alot. In 2000 I found a dog on the trail. Nobody mentions them. In NC/TN area in 2000 I knew of 5 dogs found on the trail. Some hunting dogs, some regular ole dogs, remeber DeeOhGee? She had several names before that stuck. Why where these dogs out their? Irresponsible owners. Its not the dogs fault. I dont want a dog in the water source for miles, I dont want a dog licking my food. Bring em out, but keep them under control and bury their crap along with your own.

dogs in the shelters are one thing. but, dogs that smoke in the shelters are the worst.
