Falcon Publishing puts out a good book on hiking in Glacier. Basically, it is all good. The campgrounds have good hikes in their areas (Swiftcurrent, Many Glacier, Waterton) as does Logan Pass. Which hike you choose will depend in part on how far you want to go. Check out the book.
Spirit Walker
While the park is open year around, a lot of the facilities close in the fall. I think it is either October 1 or October 15 when the lodges, stores, ranger stations etc. start to close down. You can still get a permit to hike, but only at a few places. Expect snow from mid-September to mid-June.
