Dawsonville sits at 1,300 feet atitude according to topozone.com. So to get the true temp for Springer Mountain, take off 10 degrees from the high, add about 5mph wind. So if they are calling for 50 at Dawsonville for a high, count on 40 for a high at top of Springer.

It looks pretty good for the 3/1 crowd starting manana, but folks who have been out a few weeks might run into some or a lot of white stuff. Seems there is a weather advisory watch in and around the counties of the Smokies and East TN/ Western NC. New England is supposed to get hit with a wicked storm tonight and tomorrow. I know of at least one thru-hiker up there now.
