Im planing to walk the path of Appalachian for 10 days in late August, I was wondering if someone can recommend a starting point around Pennsylvania from which I could continue north or south.

You could consider starting in Duncannon, PA, at the Doyle Hotel, you can sleep over there for ~$20 a night, and Pat and Vickie will send you on your way with a hiker sized dinner and some cold brews, if you went south you could easily make it to Harpers Ferry in 10 days (it’s about 100 trail miles), or go even further.

Delaware Water Gap is your starting point, great hostel, even better outfitters store, and head South on the AT.
