howdy all-

a friend an i hiked section A of the pct a few weeks ago, from april 26th to may 2nd, and we were both sad to leave the trail and the new friends we had made (but hardly got a chance to get to know).

so in addition to pondering the possibility of a full thru-hike next season, we were thinking of doing a short 2-3 day jaunt in the sierras later this summer, hopefully timing it out (by following various peoples’ trail journals) so we might meet up with some of the folks we hiked with earlier.

my question is, does anyone have any suggestions as to what portion of the sierras might make a good, relatively uncomplicated 2-3 day hike, keeping all of the above in mind? i’m guessing that we’ll probably plan on doing this sometime in july.

i’m open to ideas for an out-n-back hike, as well as possibly a one-way hike where we can get a lift back to our car at the end.

thanks in advance!

Check out section Q, Etna summit to Seiad Valley. The Marble Mountains are quite nice. Happy trails.

Or even the section from Soda Creek to Etna Summit. Easy on off I-5 and get off at Etna for the Etna Brewery and hiker friendly Bradleys’ Alderbrook Manor B&B.
