2003 South Bounders

Hi to all the 2003 southbounders!! We live close to Bangor, Maine (where most people fly or get bussed to before getting up to Baxter Park) and want to extend an invitation to any southbounders to email us if you need a ride up to Baxter. We southbounded last year and really appreciated all of the generosity of the people along the trail, and so would like to help others in the same way. Let us know if we can help you save a little time and money getting your trek started. We will try to work around your schedule. Take care and happy hiking!!

How generous…bless you. I also read your journal recently and was truly inspired. I bought an Esbit stove yesterday after I read your gear list. I plan to begin at Katahdin on June 1st and would love to take you up on your offer. More later. Peace

BB & Z, that’s a great offer. I’ve been trying to decide the best way to get to the trailhead, and I would love to take you up on your offer. My plans are fairly fluid regarding my start date (sometime between 05/15 and 06/01) so if you know of any other southbounder who’s starting in that time period, maybe we could meet up in Bangor and you could kill two birds with one stone. :smiley: I’ll be in touch with you for more details (plus to ask a few SoBo questions as I re-read your journal!).
