I am a 20 year old male who is interested in SOBOing the AT starting July 2nd of 2005. Are there any forsseable problems with this? I am also interested in finding someone who would like to attempt this with me. I plan on averaging around 20 mile days and would like to take VERY few zero’s. If anyone is interested in entertaining this offer, or has any advice for a through hike novice. leave me one

What do you think about the sobo “trail journals” elsewhere in this site? The insights provide evidence of the challenges, weather, conditioning, and experience.
Maybe those in the “2005 Class” will add to this.
As for me, I’m planning a 2005 thru-hike: 75% leaning to sobo midMay and early June/25% to nobo ~ March 1. Won’t decide approximate start date til January 1.
