Whiteblaze.net is introducing a map feature for individual hikers on the AT. Click on " 2006 Progression" at top of page of whiteblaze.net. Enter name and location and it will display location along the trail during the hike. It should be up and running in the next day or two. There is a sample listing to illustrate.

Kudos to Whiteblaze.net and RIT Blake for this very nice feature.
There will be a drop down menu for each hiker registered. A neat way for family and friends to track someone on the trail.
