2010 stats from Lujan Pass

From 7/3/2010 to 8/18/2010 we saw 308 hikers this year including equestrians and dirt bikes. This includes section hikers, mountain bikers, and CDT hikers of course. Since I usually left camp around 5:30 I included hikers who left some evidence of coming thru although they did not sign in. I am sure many more went thru after hours without leaving a trace so the true count is no doubt higher still. Pretty amazing. APPLE

Wow, that’s amazing! I had no idea you’d see that many people at your camp.

I’ve been lurking for a while, first post though, but hope to see you next year as I’m starting to plan for a thru on the CT.

Hey Apple,

We got more help from you than the average hiker and enjoyed the meal at that chinese restaurant in Gunn. Thanks a lot! The section of the hike from where you dropped us off was the most unique and amazing part of the whole hike. We loved it.

Why do your stats only run to 8/18? I think we saw you close to that date and it certainly seemed like you were planning to stay on until end of August…

Almost 25% of the AT sounds like a LOT of hikers!

Glad to hear you liked the rest of the CT and the chow. :happy I left on 8/18 because traffic on the trail dropped to nil. I had a couple days with nobody and it gets pretty quiet up there at Lujan. I guess that folks try to get back before school starts or something. On the other hand I had 12 folks on some days and that was really neat. I think the part west of Eddiesville is awesome too. Actually, so is the part east of Eddiesville… APPLE
