Looking for one or more people to join me who know the area. I am an experienced hiker with no local knowledge. Would like to start early Friday morning and finish Sunday afternoon-ish. Would like to see the best the area has to offer and could do 10-15 miles per day without any issues. 31 year old profession married man here. Thanks.

Jeremy, Should be a great time, though its looking cold.
Have you considered going from New Found Gap to either north or south end of the Park? Easy to find trail heads both at I-40 (N) or Fontana Dam (S). Each way is a good, strenueous, three day trip, if not too cold or snowy.
Watch for snow to close the Park roads.
Read Stumpknockers TJ, he’s starting out there now.
Four of us will be outside of the Park going south from Sam’s Gap back to Hot Springs that same weekend.

Jeremy, If you choose Newfound gap, call ahead and make sure the 441 is open, they close it down in Cherokee during snow storms. Enjoy your trip:)
