I know folks who are hiking in the Smokies. I hope they are OK. The weather channel gave the snowfall report for Le Conte. I assume there is even more where the trail goes above 6000 feet. whew.

LeConte is well over 6,000 feet. It’s nearly as high as Clingmans Dome, so the snow depth should be similar through that region. That’s got to be some tough going. I wonder how it compares to the Blizzard of 1992, when authorities used helicopters to rescue stranded backpackers in the Smokies?
