And indeed it was!
Something told me to go home and get my boots after work today, so I did. As soon as I got out of my truck up at the FS42 parking lot at Springer who should I meet but Nimblewill Nomad Himself sitting sunning on the tailgate of his truck. He said I should hang around for a few minutes before I headed up the mountain, so I did. In a very few minutes who should come walking out of the woods but JoJo Smiley and B of B and B (RE-named just today by N.N. as “Bombshell” or “Bombs Hell” he’s still working with that!) just finishing the Fla./Ala./and non AT Ga. sections of the ECT. JoJo is heading on up the AT and beyond to Cape Gaspe and B will be heading down to Lake Okechobee in FLA. to finish the last 370 odd miles on down to Key West to complete her Eastern Continental Trail Hike.
They were both in great spirits and looked to be in excellent health, altho JoJo has developed some pretty mean looking blisters!
We all (JoJo, Bombshell, Nimblewill Nomad, and Gadget, the caretaker at Springer and Myself) went in to Dahlonega for Pizza and Champagne at Caruso’s and an excellent time was had by all! Catch the detailed rundown in their journals here on Trailjournals in the coming days. They’re taking a few days off with Nimblewill Nomad so they’ll be posting soon!
