A very BAD hike

"Kansas Express" hit mm 103 today and will complete his thru hike in about 4 days. He went through Sandy with no stove, got a bad virus in Maine, relieved himself on a hornet's nest and got 20 stings which put him in the ICU in Danbury where they informed him that along with the shock from the swollen bee stings the virus had resurfaced and inflammed the tissue around his heart. They said he was 48 hours from death when he made it to the hospital. He should finish his hike after 103 days on the trail which ain't bad considering!

Ain't bad considering, or maybe the bad was partly a result of putting himself under too much stress with a 3.5 month pace. Geesh. He tore down his body's own defenses for reasons I can't begin to comprehend given a near fatal diagnosis along the way. No hero worship from me, but congrats to him on finishing... alive.

Not only are there no updates about his actual hike, there are no updates period. On the plus side, your statement about his promise is hilarious.
