I did 700 milesof the AT, returned to my home land (Israel), since then have been encountering many financial difficulties and some personal one too.
I found little work , have been without one for most of the time BUT thanks to my hiking on the AT and other long distance trails before that I managed (still do) not to climb the walls , keep sane and be optemistic. The calmness, tranquility, spirit I have gained thanks to the AT is the reason for all that.

I know what you mean Zammy. When I get frustrated and I feel overwhelmed with worries, problems, and fears I reflect on my time on the AT, as well as my time traveling around the world. I remember all the faces and lives that touched me in places like India, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Egypt, and yes, Israel. I remember how little so many people around the world have in terms of money, shelter, and food. Their lives are very difficult. But so often they always retained an abundance of warmth, humor, kindness and optimism even when everything seemed so grim. So I tell myself that no matter how tough I think my life is at the moment I always have a roof over my head, more than enough food and some money in my pocket. It’s our experiences and memories that give us the ability to reflect and put things in perspective. Good luck to you, I hope that your life soon takes a better turn.

Hey Zammy,
It’s all good, nothing in this world is permanent. I trust that you know that nothing is set in stone. You have the ability to change anything you want. In order to do that, you must begin with one foot in front of the other, everything will fall in to place. Remember Grayson Highlands? Me too. Take care Zammy
