I noticed in the 2007 Thru-Hikes Companion that there is a hostel just south of Moreland Gap called Abby’s Place. Has anyone stayed here?
I am doing a section hike and had planned on staying at Kincora, but did not know if Abby’s was any better or worse.

Kincora is a rare thing on the the trail - a hostel that is open for the love of the trail. Bob is an incredible person, has done a ton for the trail, and is a true angle and legend. I highly suggest staying there.
Plus he drives you in to town and if you are lucky, you can do some trail work when you stay there!

Bob is a good guy and it’s a nice hostel. no alcohol or drugs allowed and generally the hikers are respectful of the place and things were very nice and calm when i was there.

i don’t know about the other place, but i myself could NEVER pass up a stay with the Peoples at kincora!..WOW!

We also had a very proficient search and rescue team at the time I was there.
