Has anyone else heard of this new insulating material and do you know how long before it will be widely available in outdoor clothing and gear? I read in article about it being used in a product called Toasty Feet insoles that were used on an Everest expedition.

i spec’d this substance for one of my projects in school - it’s amazing stuff! They developed it to catch “space dust” without damaging the particles. I can’t imagine that they would use it in hiking gear, although that would be really cool. I know its mostly air - like 99%. It would be lightweight for sure - not to mention it’s practically indestructible. It’s probably super expensive right now and won’t be available to the public for a while.
