This is a continued post from previous post. I'm section hiking from Port Clinton to Conneticut State Line. Thanks for all the great info about this section. It is nice to be able to get first hand information from fellow hikers. If I do catch a train into NYC, Grand Central Station. Where, what, when or how do I get a bus/train to Washington, DC? I have three daughters that live in Georgetown.

This spring I took the train from Boston to Florida and we stopped in NY's Penn Station to switch trains. From there the train options to Washington were many. There was an Amtrack counter right there to help you. I would imagine there is an Amtrack counter in GCS who could help you. Trains run between NYC and Washington several times a day.

for a train, walk to penn station to get on an amtrack.
for a bus, walk to 42nd street port authority (near times square).
alternatively, you can take one of the cheap buses from chinatown, but you’ll have to research where/when they leave. i think bolt bus is one of them.
