I have heard of people doing these types of hikes before, but never really looked into them in detail. I am only visiting due to a friend of a friend just started the hike yesterday.
Just wanted to say that I give a hell of a lot of credit to all of you that have tried or accomplished this feat.

I knew nothing about this thing until '98 when I started following a friend’s journey on the trail. When I did trail angel stuff for my friend, I found myself saying, why not? And when I did a few nights on the trail with my friend, I found myself saying that I will and did the whole thing some months later.
Be careful, this bug just might bite you ;-]

I just read on another forum that Denise De Lisle, trailname Journey, who has a journal here, passed away last week. She had planned on leaving Springer on April 13 of this year.

Keith, I visited here today for the same reason,a friend of a friend started the trail this week. Reading the journals/forums is cool and inspiring. what good hearted folks!
Would like to add my sympathies to those of you mourning ‘journey’ so tragic, and how lovely of you to enter her on the trail registers.
