I’m trying to find a good journal (thruhiker) from 2008. But there are a lot of them. Can anyone make a suggestion about what to read?

I’m a bit prejudice but may I suggest my husband’s journal. Ed Benton, Racoon trail name. He has lots of pictures, not too wordy and a good account of his ordeal, good and bad with the rain and the mud. Quite an experience. If you want a good laugh, read the Australian one, our good friend Daisy.
Liptstick
Started reading stumpknocker’s a few years ago. You can pick from any one of his journals they are all great. However due to his active life some journals contain side trips. Try is 07, I think thats the first one I read and learned so much from.

Browse for someone within 15 years of your age and look at the hit counter. If it’s a good journal, it will have a lot of hits. Same sex usually helps, or some people like couples.
If you’re an inactive 50 year old man, you might not relate to a 20-something woman marathoner, no matter how good a writer she is.
Garlic
Good thought Garlic but the classic of all journals, in my opinion, belong to Jan LiteShoe 2003. She has more than 502,000 hits and counting. Her journal is very interesting and I think that most folks would enjoy her writing and style. She is not my age, sex but she holkds my interest.
Jan needs some more hits folks so read every word. You will enjoy it.
