I would go ahead and order a databook from the CT now while you look around to see who might sell one. It still might be faster through the CT.

My databook looks like it has hike 500 miles… and it is a souvenir from my hike. Like my AT databook, I wrote where I camped every night and who I camped with in it, so I think I will hold on to it. Sorry :frowning:

Thanks, I’ve already started looking into ordering. I realized how stupid my last post was. I understand the memento thing and also, it’s only $3 for crying out loud, nice to give the CT foundation the business too. Leif, are you going to write up entries for your climbs on Wilson and El Diente etc… I was looking at those sweet pics. What route (class?) did you take on Mt. Wilson?

I actually do have something something written for Mt. Wilson and El Diente… I haven’t posted anything yet because the peaks section of this site is broken and no one has fixed it yet  - (my way of answering your last e-mail too).

I was playing around with the peak stuff ( a few months ago), and we do have peakjournals.com, someday we will rework it so the peak journals can be posted there. This is what I currently have for the peak section - http://www.trailjournals.com/login/peaks.cfm -just trying to figure out the best way to set up the database and everything…

I climbed grand teton this summer and want to post my journal and pictures for that, but I told myself I can’t do it until the peak stuff gets reworked… so there you have it.

Don’t remember the name of the route that we took up Mt. Wilson, but we did go up the “left side” and we took the ridge across to El Diente.

I wish I could help somehow, but I totally don’t have a clue with programming. Man, the Grand, Exum ridge? What grade was it? That is fantastic, congrats leif. To what climb on the 14ers does it best compare to in general. You know, I’ve been thinking of Orizaba in a couple years. Interested? Wanna do either Shasta or Rainier first though. Probably Shasta. Oh yes, that route on Mt. Wilson had to be at least class 4, how was the exposure? And the organ pipe ridge, I hope to do that traverse someday. How’s the exposure along the traverse?

Yes it was a class 4, and yes there was a lot of exposure for not being roped in! I wanted to do Rainier this summer, but it didn’t work out, so one of these days I hope to do it. I have thought about the highpointers club… have you ever heard of it? http://highpointers.org/guide.shtml

yeah, I think I stumbled across that site a while back. That’s pretty cool, though I’d think a fair number of the high points would be rather dull. When do you think you’d try for Denali? Orizaba in the nearer future seems more reasonable technically and economically to me…

Hammockhngr, sounds great! Right now, the plan is to fly out to Albuquerque on the 21st of May (right after trail daze!) and hop a bus to Denver. Be on the CT by the 22nd. Will probably finish around 4th of July. Looking forward to it! Believe it or not, I have yet to get my data book though it’s in the mail! Once it comes, I can begin to chart it out and this will seem more real…
