Does anyone know when the approach trail steps were installed? I can't remember if they were there in the very late 70's when hiked to Damascus. Always wondered about them and If I had used them.

There were steps but I don't think they went to the top of the Falls back then. I know it wasn't considered the Approach Trail. The Approach Trail Starts under the Arch behind the Visitors Center. In the 70's, and in 2003 when I did it, it went thru the woods up the Falls. Sometime in the last 3-5 years it was rerouted up the steps.
