Bleach may be cheap, and while some use it, it’s my understanding that it does not get all of the cooties.

Like all gear, there is no clear consentious on what is best for everyone.

The one thing about AquaMira that really annoyed me was the fact that Part A always evaporated before part B. I had 3 bottles of Part B in my bounce.

since hiking i’ve met some insane people who’ve actually developed a tolerance for disgusting, giardia and cryptosporidia ridden water. i mean, they live in a yurt and crap in a sliding outhouse, but i think they may be on to something. it’s not something i’d do, but i think you still have some time if you feel like going through a couple weeks of toilet hell at home…

i guess it’s all opinion, but a hydrogeologist and a pharmacist both told me that bleach (2 drops per liter) works fine. it did, although bleach water doesn’t taste all that great. After a while i only treated suspicious water anyway.

any doctor can perscribe medication that will fight the symptoms of giardia, and will be more than happy to give it to you before your hike.
