Just discovered www.TheArtfulHiker.com - Wonderful site of art drawn from the AT by hiker-artist named Postcard, apparently during his thru-hikes. He illustrates the nutty and fun side of life on the trail. Looking through all those images in The Gallery was like reliving my hike, hunger and all.

Postcard rocks. Saw him draw an illustration one night in the Shenandoah’s. Great stuff - always has one of the most creative AT journals – good guy. I loved his Mahoosuc Notch and Appalachian Trail Diet illustrations. How the heck he can hike, draw and write everyday on a thru-hike is beyond me? Thanks for the pass along NoDoubt.

Anyone who carries a pound of art supplies on a hike is, well, HYOH! But I do like his observations about a thruhike, totally wacko at times and totally the spirit of hiking from Georgia to Maine. Just have to convince the wife to clear off a wall now – cool logo.
