I realize this is a long shot, but is there anybody from Asheville, NC area. I’m hoping to move there before August and need some information about the area. If anybody could help, please e-mail me. I realy need the local newspaper for a job search.

Asheville is full of past thru-hikers. For some reason, hikers really like that town. I’ve visited a few times. Nice place. Do a web search for the Asheville newspaper. You could probably find online classifieds.

hey turkeybacon…asheville is a great place to live, indeed. i moved to the area a year ago. lived in asheville for 4 months and then left to hike a 750 mile section of the AT this past spring (roan highlands to central PA). i’m now living in the town of weaverville, which is about 10 miles north of asheville. the job market here is kind of slim, but i wouldn’t let that stop you from moving this way. check out these sites: www.asheville.com, www.citizentimes.com, www.mountainx.com, and www.ashevillejobs.com

these should get you on your way. if you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Asheville is a great place to live if you’re open minded enough for the city. It’s a great melting pot of people from all walks of like. Everyone here accepts people for who they are.
