I was planning on a JMT thru hike this summer, but because of the new restrictions with the permit process I am now planning a section hike of the AT for 1 month. Any suggestions on which section would be best to attempt from Early-Mid July through mid August?? Thanks for the help

July to August is getting a little warm down south so you are better off going to New England. Anywhere from Vermont to Maine would be nice but buggy. Mostly skeeters but late July may still hold some black flies. It is a big crowded up here in the summer though.

I agree, In the heat of the Summer along the Appalachian Trail for a month. I vote for Southern Vermont to the North. You will have bugs along the whole trail then. It will be cooler at the mountain tops and there will be plenty of water.
