In today’s Burlington Free Press there is a short article about a female hiker who was reportedly attacked in one of the lean-tos along the LT. Does anyone know which shelter? I know some shelters are more susceptible to problems due to their proximity to motorized access.

Shooting Star is a little far from the roads. I expected Gov. Clements (is that still there???), Jay Camp or Journey’s End.

Vermont State Police say they are looking for a man who allegedly tried to assault a woman who was camping Friday night on the Long Trail in Troy.
The woman reported she was sleeping near the trail at about 10 p.m. when a man tried to attack her. The woman told police she scared the man off by telling him she had a weapon.
The suspect is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slender, muscular build. He was reportedly clean-shaven and wore a black hat, black pants and a blue raincoat.
No further description was given.
