Is there anyone out there in Austin, Tx with a Granite Gear pack (specifically the Nimbus Ozone)? I am considering switching before my JMT hike this year, but I don’t want to order it online. I would like a chance to see how my gear fits in and how comfortable it is.

Sorry - not in Tx, but I have an Ozone with about 3000 miles on it - can’t say enough good about it - the suspension is great and adjustable for most any person - it comes in three sizes I think, (mine is a medium - I’m 5’9") and it has held up just great - there is wear in some of the expected areas, but it still has good life left in it. - you might try contacting granite gear to find out if they have a dealer in the area that you could check in with.

I have a Nimbus latitude that I’ve had for a year and I really like it.I had carried an external frame for 25 years.Rei in Austin carries them,you could go there and try them on.Good luck.
PS they also have a web site that gives all their dealers.

They must have carried them in the past at REI here. I have asked several clerks there about the packs and they all say I need to order online. I really didn’t want to order the pack without seeing it and having a chance to see how it fit.

order the pack, and get it in the store for a dep. on your credit card. If you don’t want it, no problem. Oo
