AZT Hiking Partner Wanted

I am looking for someone to join me on a thru-hike of the Arizona Trail begining late next month or early April…as long as I can find a safe cheap place near the trailhead to leave my vehicle and a shuttle from there to the trailhead.

Although I have successfully hiked a number of trails including the AT, I am not always the best navigator. Plus, in the only AZT NOBO journal I read, the guy was constantly getting lost. I have the guide book and it does not appear to be as easy to follow as the other trails I have hiked.

I will try not to talk too much and be too annoying as I now have my music to listen to.

I will take care of all of our expenses out and back from my place in Ohio.

If you’re a non-smoking male, who has some long distance backpacking experience, and is interested, please read my journals to see if I might me someone you’d like to hike with. If so let me know ASAP. Take Care & Hike On! Skeemer

My back-up trail would be the Pacific Northwest Trail and I may have someone intersted in joining me (us) if that’s the case.

Brian Frankl has his Arizona Trail journal on the ULA-Equipment site. Chris Townsend wrote a good book about his northbound hike in 1999.

Dude you might want to watch who replies to your add. Just remember that AZT isnt always what you think. IE the HIV drug the post topic sounds like your looking for a certain type hiking partner. Luckily i knew you were talking about Arizona just in the future watch your post topic and good hiking.

Me ! Me! Me! I have the guide book, read Brian Frankel’s journal, Chris Townsend’s book and am ready to go! This was already on my agenda for the same time frame. Whee! I have Springer Fever for ANY hike, but this was mt next choice.

However, I am a non-smoking female. I have put some miles in on the trails and you can also read my TJ at GottaWalk. My hiking partner (husband Ken) and I are home doing chores. Ack! He isn’t sure that we can squeeze in the hike in April. I said he could do chores and I would go hike solo but your offer is better.

Be sure to check out Dave Hicks’ site at http://www.geocities.com/davehicks01/index.html (and look up his photo in the Westcliffe guidebook)
