Many of you may have kept up with Baro back in 2006. He now has a book out on trailpeddler.com. I got it last week and couldn’t put it down. If you kept up with Jangles, Mouse, Chardonnay or The River Weasel you have to get this book! It’s hilarious!

I am in the process of reading this book and it is difficult to do anything but. Great reading and I can’t wait for the sequel.

Move over Bill Bryson for someone who has actually hiked the whole AT and has a funnier tale to tell. I love it … you’ll love it!

Much to my dismay I found myself doing nothing but reading Through Hiker’s Eyes for entire day. Fortunately after that day I had finished the book and could focus on the test I had the next day. I smiled and laughed the whole way through the book, and remembered my own hike through the same areas or days. A great book for those who hiked the AT or who want to.

baro has done a tremendous job of capturing the essence of so many hikers and putting it down on paper. i can’t tell you how many people i have startled on the dc metro when i laughed out loud at a passage, or how many people stared at me quizzically and i sat giggling to myself.
get ready to embark on a great journey as you read the book. the librarian at my school just put in an order for both books…what is stopping you?

This book offers a whitty narrative of the real AT experience - you don’t just get the good; you get the bad, the ugly, the annoying, and quirky along with it! I feel like I know Baro’s hiking companions personally even though I have not met them. It’s a great read - just be prepared to clear you’re schedule - you won’t be able to put it down! Can’t wait for the sequel to come out!

Just ordered my copy yesterday, got an email from Baro that he sent it out today. Looking forward to a good read. Hiked a bit with these guys during the PA flooding - crazy group. Should be some great stories!!

What is so funny about Baro’s book is that he didn’t even need to make up the ridiculous characters he encounters…they are crazy enough on their own and little imagination is needed, just the filter that Baro sees life through! I love his writing and have begun making references to my husband’s man tokens every time I’m right in life and drops of misery every time it rains. I’ve been carrying it around with me the last week reading the funnier sections to friends, which inevitably results in me reading to them for hours! A great Christmas gift, for sure.

This is a great book for any hiker, camper, hunter, or outdoors enthusiast. I had a hard time putting it down, and it really made me crave the trail! I really enjoyed that the characters are REAL people, right here on trailjournals.
