Hope the Washington bears get this out of their systems before I get that far North…

Anyhoo, the PCT goes nowhere near the Olympic Mts 
I have read the news stories on this “attack” and I will hold judgement till I hear the full story.
Most likely the hunters were either bear hunting, and didn’t kill the bear on the first shot, or they were hunting something else, and the bear foudn the kill. I’d hedge on they were bear hunting.
The bears in the ONP are wusses really, they are small-most of the black bears I have seen came to my waist on all fours.
It isn’t uncommon to see 4-5 bears in one day in the interior of the park…the bears rarely care about us humans if we leave them alone

I love seeing them and talking to them…not that the ‘grizzly man’ crazy talk, but 'hey bear. whut up?" talk.

I personally love bears! The bears at Rainier NP are incredible They seem to love Hey Bear.

Love seeing bears… I live in Mendocino, California now days… back down from Alaska… ran into a mountain lion two mornings ago… they are soooo awesome…
