Has anyone tried using coyote urine to spray near their bear bag and camp site to keep the bears away? They sell bottles of it in gardening stores to keep deer away from your ahem tomatoes.

I cook several miles away from where I sleep, avoid established sites and stealth camp, sleep with my food and have never been bothered by bears or rodents. Oh, I spread a little urine around too.
HAWKEYE
The only time my food was taken by bears, was when I had it hanging up a tree! They successfully scaled the tree and ripped the hanging branch off.
I did sleep with my food on occasion (very Freudian) when there were no suitable trees, or on the odd rare occasion when I was just too tired to bearbag, but must say I was always happier when my food was away from my tent, and recommend it. Having bears lurking around you when you’re in a vulnerable position lying on the ground is not a happy moment!
Here’s an experience…

I used the ‘amazing urine circle’ every night and whether this had any effect I don’t know - but I do know my bear visitors never crossed the line!
