Hiking from Warner Springs to Campo in Mid April, what is the wildlife situation in that section during that time of year??? any thought / help appreiciated.

You may see snakes (rattlers). You will see lots of lizards and horny toads.

Also i saw a coyote and a fox in this section, but that depends somewhat on evening or early morning hiking and having some space between you and other hikers. No bears in this section, sorry. There are some in the San Jacintos in the next section north.

You may or may not see a cougar! They’re rare, but some people claimed to have spotted one in the Lagunas. I don’t know how much stock I put into that, but I guess it’s possible, they were there once upon a time.

I saw a bobcat and 2 rosy boas. I also saw a big, ferocious rattlesnake, the only one I ever saw. I had to toss a few rocks at him gently to make him give me enough room to get around him. He was ready to strike.
