Speaking of cold beer, I plan to resupply at Reds Meadow and Muir Trail Ranch. Can I get cold beers at either location? If not I can always include them in my box, I would imagine that the taste would outway the cost of shipping. Your thoughts?

I’m not a beer drinker, so don’t hold me to this but I don’t remember seeing any beer at Reds Meadow. I know Muir Trail Ranch only caters to people actually staying at the ranch, so I have no way of knowing if they have beer there or not. I know VVR sells beer. I believe the first one is free if you spend the night there.

The store at Red’s Meadow has lots of beer, including some good choices. The cafe is ok with you buying a beer (or 10) at the store and bringing it in to the cafe.
VVR has beer.
Muir Trail Ranch does not have beer for sale, unless you are staying at the resort.

When I went to MTR a couple of years ago they were VERY adamant that hikers shouldnt go anywhere near the facilities. We were to wait by the shed until the shed lady came out and got our stuff. That said, I slipped a six pack of sodas in my can and they were very cool coming out of the shed. There was also tons of extra hiker food that hadn’t been picked up (this was early September) and they were happy for us to take anything off their hands.
