Hi all,
Is there anyplace in Buena Vista where I can park legally and safely for about 10-12 days while I pack around in the Collegiates? If not, how risky (ie, vandalism/theft) is it to park on the trailheads around that area? My truck is old and beat up but still I would hate to come back to broken windows or worse, since I have to drive all the way back to Kansas City afterwards

I parked at cottonwood pass road without any problems for about 5 days. I think there is a hostel in Buena Vista that might shuttle you?

I’ll have to look around in Buena Vista and see what I can come up with. All else fails, I’ll just take the risk and park my truck. After all, I’m not going to be thwarted from my trip just because of parking

You can park free at the corner of US50 / 285 in Poncha Springs at the welcome center. I’ve left vehicles there for a week at a time with no problems.
