Timberline Lodge, on Mt. Hood is a fun place to rendezvous with family. My parents met me there in '97 during my thru-hike. Its right on the trail, and has lots of day hiking potential. Its also fairly close to Portland.
Your wife could drive around to Cascade Locks and meet you there after Hood or, better yet, hike part of the Eagle Creek Trail with you, which is one of the most amazing short trails in the world. Most PCT hikers take the Eagle Creek Trail down to the Columbia River instead of the PCT - I’ve done both & can vouch for the fact that the Eagle Creek Trail is far superior.
Another nice spot is Ashland, OR - especially if you’re a Shakespeare fan. Its not quite a trail experience like Timberline Lodge, but its a beautiful town with nice hotels/B&B’s etc. Pilot Rock could be a nice day hike with the wife.
Another fun option might be Lake Tahoe (easy access from Reno).
Happy Trails!
