My husband and I are planning on doing a thru hike of the LT this summer and so we need to outfit him. Which ultralight pack have you found to be the best fit (and price)? Anyone have one for sale? Thanks!

ULA Circuit. Absolutely love mine!

Had a UKA Circuit, switched to a cuben fiber pack by Zpacks

The cuben fiber pack weighs in at about 20 ounces and is waterproof.

I also have. ULA Circuit that I really like. I also had a Granite Gear Vapor Trail I used for an AT Thruhike that I liked as well but they are no longer made. Six Moon Designs also makes some nice lightweight packs. I also tried a pack that came highly recommended that had no type of frame. It had great features and weighed less than a pound but it put too much weight on my shoulders. After a day of hiking my back was extremely sore. Go for a lightweight pack that has some method of transferring the weight to your hips.

Fit is the key. Keep trying them I thought the Circuit was sthe bees knees but then hated how it fit. I always go back to my wonderful ZPacks Arc Blast. It’s tried and true for me. Good luck!!

Used a 4yr old Go-Light Jam. Small, dependable, lightweight. Lot of hikers asked about it during my thru-hike last year. The pack went the distance with no problems. Never weighed more than 22 lbs the entire hike.

Hyperlite 2400 or 3400 is another excellent alternative., depending on the weight of your load. A big plus is that they are semi waterproof, though they aren’t cheap! The ‘Go lite Jam’ is an excellent pack, but only if you’re staying under about fifteen pounds as it has very little support for heavier loads. I hear plenty of good votes for ULA packs, maybe try them as well. Arc Blast rate very high too, if you want to spend the bucks!
Good luck and hike safe.

I have a Z-Pack Arc Haul Zip and love it and most likely will never change to another at this point. I only say this about special gear like my Montbell Down Hugger 900 sleeping bag as well. All other choices in my opinion are lacking something.

I wish I could afford the Z Pack Arc Haul but I spent to much on my CF Tarp. I went with the ULA Ohm 2.0 because it was the lowest capacity for what I carry and had all the adjustments that I like from the old school traditional external frame pack that I have alway’s previously used. The cost was very reasonable for the quality of this product.
