Im looking for tips when packing. Also what to use to attach things to the outside of ur pack. I have a Kelty 3100.

REI has a wonderful page on their website all about packing your backpack.
If in rainy areas I like to leave my rain gear on top, with easy access. As well as anything like chapstick, headlight or quick snacks on the outside pockets.
I also use those velcro strips you can buy at Wal*Mart for a few dollars in the sewing dept. To attach things to the outside of my pack, much lighter than carabiners.

To attach items to the outside of my packs I have used rope, string, etc. But the best has been a variety of sized assesory straps from Campmor. Current catalog page 180. or www.campmor.com
