Equada Outfitters and Sol Foods Organics Market are
putting together a PCT vendor expo & BBQ.
I’m trying to fiqure out the best dates are for PCT arrivals. We’re thinking of the 12th or 18th of May,
for the vendoer expo. the BBQ would be for both.
Give me some feed back, Please!

Either date probably works. My current schedule has me getting into Big Bear aroud the 15th or so… Deadsmack in the middle.

location,location,location,it would be way cool if you could have the expo at: “CAMP OAKS” it is located a literal stones throw from the P.C.T. (aprox.1/4mi. north of hwy.18) in big bear. It is a Y.M.C.A. summer camp, with lots of 3 sided shelters w/bunks; bathrooms; showers; bunkhouses;lecture hall; and much more. They host other events in addition to summer camp, i.e. every memorial day weekend, the: “Riverside Telescope Makers” hold their anual confrence there. Venders related to the hobby come from all over the country to display and sell their wares… I have attended the event numerous times, and the camping has always been great… I couldn’t think of a more perfect location! Hikers could could literaly walk into “CAMP” from the trail… check it out… good luck !

Hard to beleive that many hikers would be buying new gear at Big Bear…there will be little snow at all to deal with this year until you get into the Sierras and then only the realy early ones will see much there …Vasque boots? who wears them any more on the pct…but maby the hikers will find that one item they were unable to get before…remember that A16 sporting goods will be at the KO too…

great idea for camp oaks, hikers can add more weight
before they get off in to big bear.
and ed, it’s true. at this point of the trail, gear ideas
seem to change. we have sold lots of new product;
sleeping bags, packs, shoes, and other accessories.
vasque for their trail shoes.
Osprey rep was hoping to do a pre- tahoe gig. that’s were
the idea is coming from.
if you don’t want it, we won’t do it.

the expo will happen all-day on May 18th @ our store location ( 663 Pine Knot Av. Big Bear Lake,CA )
vendors and food for the hikers. there is a PCT slide
show presented w/ rides to the event. Bring family and friends to check out the venues.
