For anybody who isn’t on cdt-l:
Big Sandy is no longer accepting hiker maildrops. Last year a thruhiker broke into the owner’s cabin in search of his maildrop - now the folks at the resort want nothing to do with cdt hikers. Once again, one stupid hiker ruins it for everybody.
Hikers will need to either carry all their food between Dubois and Lander/South Pass/Atlantic City or leave the Winds midway and hitch to Pinedale. It’s supposed to be a nice, although fairly long, hike out. Because of the gas/oil boom, Pinedale is very busy though, so motels are likely to be in very short supply and very expensive (like the rest of Wyoming).
