Bikes - Pacific Crest Trail

Are bikes allowed on the Tahoe Rim segment of the PCT? Someone on the trail said they were, and I didn’t see the usual no bikes sign. I know they’re not allowed any where else 'cept the road walks of course. Personally I think they tend to be dangerous and the continuous groove tends to errode the trail faster, and its no fun to have to walk in. Thanks

I’ve only hiked the PCT segments of the TRT, I would be curious how much the tread varies compared to the segments that allow mountain bikes.
