I biked south when I sprained my knee backpacking in deep snow. I didn’t have the CDBike Trail guidebook & I didn’t get started until september so I mostly took paved roads. One thing I noticed from the CDBers I saw was that many had an overloaded trailer… when you pass thru a town every few days, you don’t need too much food!.. on the other hand, a lightly loaded trailer could be a spoke-saver if all your gear, food, & water is on that rather than over your back wheel. My battery recharger was stolen at Banff camping when I biked across Canada in the 90’s. The most excellent moment was seeing the northern lights on the Chibaugamau road in september (B&W only) although I forgot my helmet while gazing in awe & had to backtrack 10 miles!
