I am planning to do a section hike from Bland to Pearisburg over the Memorial Day holiday. As I have yet to hike this section, I just wanted to get an idea for what the trail is like and if there might be any reputable people offering shuttles between the two towns.
Trekking Trav
I used the Rendezvous Motel in Pearisburg for shuttle services twice. Very reliable, very professional. The price was very fair.
Mostly easy hiking in this section. The toughest area I recall is the descent into P-burg!
Metso
the Hot Springs outfitter does shuttles around there, but they may be too far south for you to use, or too expensive.
the decent into Pearisburg can be rough if you’ve got bad knees or really slick in rain, just because it’s a long downhill stretch. but if you get good weathe it’s an awesome hike. The rhodos and azaleas should still be out, and they just cover the Trail in that section, it’s a really pretty hike.
