It’s sad what’s gone on over there for the past several days. Really tight controls over freedom of thought and exchange of ideas. Posts deleted, members treated disrespectfully and threatened via private messages, threads locked down for no real reason other than people dared to think differently than the trailer trash moderators. And all this at a time when the forum was getting extra attention from so many hikers who needed a venue to band together and express their concerns. Nonsense.
I won’t be going back to White Balze; Hillbilly Hollow.

And that Lone Wolf, he’s a walking cliche who can post anything he wants no matter how callous. The moderators allow some to post without restriction, yet others are silenced. These acts are not reflective of American values.

Lone Wolf is probably the worst but not the only one. It seems if you give them money, you can just about post anything. If you do give money and really get outrageous the Adm will PM you and start “Sniveling” at you. Few real hikers, to quote a previous post mostly “armchair hikers”

I got some crap recently from the moderators too, and I feel “entitled” to post this for all others to learn of some nasty things going on at WB.

After I read the intentions of this young man, I started a new post on “whiteblaze”.

A few days later I got a PM from one of the moderators,…

Actuall no one deleted Wild cowboy’s post there MM - the thread was only shut down. I wish you would stop trying to stir up crap here when you know the truth is something different. What happened was wildcowboy made a few posts in other threads that were fairly inanne and then started a thread about his attempt. We shut it down because it was turning into a bash the Wildvowboy thread which seemed pretty useless. Now, instead of letting that whole affair die you keep bringing it back up. Seems your real intenet is to sew discord on this issue as the only result is to restart the bash Wildcowboy and his attempt will come back. You have some sort of ajenda here and I personally do not care for it.

So, here is your notice. Stop being the sewer of discord on this issue. If you don’t, you can leave. The staff here all discussed this, and we all wish him the best and hope for the best on him - but creating another thread that ends up in the same manner is not usefull and will not be needed.

I hope you get it. I am heading to Springer in about 20 minutes and have notified the other moderators. Any problems again over this and you get to go into time out.

Sgnt Rock does have some kind of an authority problem, and I feel sorry for him and his adgenda, and his wife too, the “dixie ****ter”.
If you were going to start a thru-hike in 20 min, why in gods name, would you be correcting ME, on some imaginary website?

Hey Dome Man, couldn’t agree more. I think since Wingfoot gave up Traiplace it has given these guys at WB a bigger head than they already had. Probably only ten percent(or less) of their members do 90% of the posting over there and most of that isn’t about hiking the AT, or even hiking for that matter. I don’t see how they operate with the few contributing members they have. Just a matter of time.

Real classy,Dome Boy. You’ve been around the AT long enough to know 70 miles a day for 30 days unsupported is obviously totally unrealistic. It’s obvious you were getting a kick out of propping Lonnie up for some more bashing. You couldn’t help yourself cause you are what you say you are: “the agitator”. In a perfect world these message boards could be a free for all. Unfortunately moderators at times have to make judgement calls about what they will allow to happen on their websites. Sorry you got your feelings hurt, but insulting someones wife because of it just ain’t a very manly thing to do. Don’t worry though, I seriously doubt he’d want to stop by your house over it. He’s got more class than that. One piece of advice: posting while drunk usually is a bad idea.

The administrators at White Balze have authoritarian tendencies. It’s what happens when trailer trash controls the conversation. They’re not fooling anyone with half a brain.

To bring it back to the missing girl, in a way; how come Whiteblaze suspended discussion? That doesn’t make sense. What possible motivation would they have for doing so? I mean, despite the very bad signs, she is still missing.

There are several open threads concerning Meredith’s disappearance on WB. The initial thread was locked because of too much rampant speculation about what may have happened to her before the facts in the case were straightened out. The moderators asked in that thread for folks to tone down the graphic speculation out of respect for friends and family who were reading the thread. A couple of her friends had already posted to that thread, so it was a real concern. Besides that thread, no other content on the case has been suspended or removed. Go see for yourself.
