Does anyone know when the Blueberry Patch opens? I had thought it wasn't until 2/15.

The 2008 Thru-Hikers' Companion sez open Feb 15 - May 1.
I stayed there on my hike way back in '95 amd it was one of my favorite stops. I can smell breakfast to this day.

i can't say enough good about gary and lenny poteet and their adorable, WARM (in more ways than one) hostel!.....if you are thru-hiking and get to dick's creek gap, you'd be crazy to pass up a stay here! (especially if if an icy rain is falling like it was when we arrived there in '06!)....paw-ee and i were their first "customers" at the patch on the 15th, i believe, and we were treated with such tenderness and "knowing" attention (probably partly because gary is a thru-hiker himself)....this couple's love shines through in everything they do, from setting your freshly washed laundry at your worn out feet, to cookin' up their famous pancake and blueberry syrup breakfast in their clean and homey, country kitchen!....any hikers that end up there, please pass along a warm greeting from maw-ee and paw-ee, will ya?
