"Happy" is found and well! By sheer stroke of amazing serendipity, after dropping off numerous posters en route, Thorfinn had just parked at the trailhead at Route 630 to hike back up the mountain where he last saw Happy. While he was putting on his gear he turned to leave something in the car, and when he looked up, there was Happy ambling down the road toward him...5+ miles from where he was last seen! When we imagine the odds of that encounter we are totally overwhelmed.
He is beyond exhausted but is in fine shape otherwise...Thorfinn, too.
Happy says he will never be off-leash again on the AT.
