Super excited. I purchased my one-way ticket to Durango last week. I’ll start hiking on June 21st. Looking forward to crossing paths with all of you southbouners in late June. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate independence day being out somewhere on the trail. Taking the Collegiate West route.

June 21st will provide you with a lot of daylight. If you wanted to, you might be able to hike 16 or 17 hours at that time of year!

That’s kind of what I’m shooting for is around 16 hour days with a couple hour long breaks during the day. Hoping to finish in less than 20, although after some bike pack races last year, I want to slow down a bit and enjoy my time out there. I don’t think I’ll bring a camera. For some reason, it kind of takes away from the experience for me. Plus, I’ve never been able to capture the magnitude of the views on film.
