The Jacks Knob Trail starts at Chattahoochee Gap. It is 5 miles one way to the summit of Brasstown Bald. This gap is between GA 348 and GA 75 above Helen.
The Blue Mountain shelter is 2.2 miles North of the Gap, and Unicoi Gap is 2.2 miles North of the shelter. Unicoi Gap is a road crossing with GA 75.
