The Camp XLA 210 is equivalent in function and weight. I’m not sure if it is made any more. However, Camp almost certainly has a similar axe out there.

I Googled and Froogled - cassin ghost “ice axe” - and came up with what appeared to be several sources… a couple showed “out of stock” when the links were followed (one saying they’re temporarily not being imported)… a couple showed “in stock”, in the $75-$80 range, with one having only the 50cm one available. You might try the Google/Froogle route, if you’ve not yet tried that!?
…Good Luck!

The Camp axe is still made. Zero and I purchased them for our now delayed PCT jaunt. We spent about a week at the start of January practicing self arrest in Maine and the axe seeme durable and showed no damage or wear after multiple times flinging our bodies down fozen slopes. I am about six two or so and two hundred plus pounds while Zero is five five or so and one twenty or so. They come in several lenghts and are reasonably priced. I don’t know the retail price because a friend of Zero’s pro dealed them for us!

Debbie- ihope you realy found one. about two weeks ago, i was in exactly the same situation that you’re in- searching for the ghost. i actually ordered it from two different places on the net, both of which said they had them, and both of which cancelled on me later (i’m still trying to get my money back from one of them). i would DEFINITELY call the place up and talk to a human being before ordering to make sure they still have them.
the problem is, according to several sources, that because of the weak dollar, a lot of European goods are not being imported into the states. Cassin is an Italian company. From what i heard, no one knows when they will start importing again (the same might go for Camp, which is also Italian).
Luckily, after 4 weeks of hunting, i was able to corner what i think are the two last cassin ghosts for sale in the country, both at 50 cm. length. i hope you have as much luck, but remember to be careful.
