I’ve heard that hikers are leaving the trail and/or being asked to evacuate in the Marble Mt wilderness and Trinity Alps because of crazy wildfires…Is this true??? Any extra info would be great.

There are alot of fires in that area, but of the trail clousures Ive seen none mentioned the PCT. Try this link for more info.

Rumors are circulating, but at this time there are no closures, according to the contact person listed at inciweb. If there are to be closures, 24-hour notice is legally required before the trail can be considered closed and citations issued for entering. Fires are of course unpredictable, but it does not sound as though there are any fires currently with the potential to reach the trail corridor in less than several days’ time.

Press release in the Redding local paper stating Marble Mountain wilderness is closed, along with specific campgrounds and unnamed roads.
